About us

Willington Local History Group (WLHG) exists to promote interest in the history of the Bedfordshire village of Willington and of the surrounding area. What we do We host a programme of talks, arrange visits to places of historic interest and hold an archive of historical documents and photographs. We also support the open days at the National Trust Tudor dovecote and stables in the village. When we meet We normally meet at 7.30 pm in the Methodist Church in Willington.  Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month from September to November, on December 5th and then on the third Tuesday of each month from January to April. Details are on our programme page. The cost of annual membership is £6 per person or you can attend a meeting as a visitor for £2.

Willington dovecote, stables and church
January 16th 2018 - We are delighted to be presenting a talk by one of our members, Gwynneth Akins on the history of Methodism in Willington. The talk will mark 150 years of Methodism in the village and be one of a number of commemorative occasions. The meeting will be in the Willington Methodist Church, doors open from 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start. For news of our summer trips, please click here.
